Trail description
From the top station of the Marunuma Kogen ropeway the trail climbs through forest and onto the rocky volcanic cone of Mount Nikko-Shirane (2,578 m), the highest peak in northern Kanto, with views over the lakes of Nikko. The volcano is active and the summit area can close when the alert level rises.
