Trail description

Mimatayama, 1,745 m, is a volcano of the Kuju range on the border of Taketa and Kokonoe, rising straight ahead of the Chojabaru trailhead. This route follows the Kyushu Nature Trail and then the direct south peak course to the main summit. The name means three-forked because three peaks show from every direction, though it actually has four: the main, south, north and west peaks. It is one of the Kyushu 100 famous mountains.
