Trail description
From the top station of the Sounkyo ropeway the trail climbs beside the chairlift to the seventh station and then steeply through creeping pine to the rocky summit of Mount Kurodake (1,984 m), the eastern gateway to the Daisetsuzan plateau, famous for its alpine flowers in July. Snow lingers on the upper trail into early summer.
