Trail description

From the Sakuradaira road end the trail passes the Natsuzawa Kosen hot-spring hut and climbs through forest to the stony summit plateau of Mount Io (2,760 m) in the Yatsugatake, on the rim of a huge explosion crater, with views over the southern Yatsugatake and the Alps. The road to Sakuradaira is rough, and the summit is very exposed to wind.
