Mount Iizuna

Trail description

Iizuna, 1,917 m, is a stratovolcano about 10 km north-northwest of central Nagano and one of the five Hokushin peaks with Togakushi, Kurohime, Myoko and Madarao. This route climbs from the south side of the mountain on a forest road and trail to the summit, about 4 km of hiking. The trail is well maintained, with no chains or ladders and little technical difficulty. The mountain is also known for soba and the ski areas on its slopes.
