Trail description

From Sasagamine in Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park the trail follows boardwalks through beech forest and climbs the Kurosawa ridge to the ponds and hut at Kosen-ike, then the open ridge to the summit of Mount Hiuchi (2,462 m), home of the rock ptarmigan. It is a long day, and many walkers stay a night at the Kosen-ike hut.
