Mount Hiji from Oike

Trail description

Hijidake, 1,643 m, is a summit of the eastern Kuju Mountains in Oita, on the north-east side of the Bogatsuru wetland. From the Oike spring car park the path climbs through old natural forest to a saddle and then steeply to the top. The first part shares its path with the route to Kurodake, and the upper slopes are slippery after rain.
