Mount Echizen (Ashitaka)

Trail description

Echizendake, 1,504 m, is the highest peak of the Ashitaka massif in Susono, an extinct volcano southeast of Mount Fuji. This route climbs from the west side on forest roads and a path to the summit. Near the top is Fujimidai, a close-up viewpoint of Mount Fuji that was used for the picture on the 1938 fifty sen note. The mountain is one of the Shizuoka 100 mountains.
