Trail description

A 3 km walk of about 210 m of climbing through the Kasugayama Primeval Forest in Nara, rising from about 150 m to 350 m on the slopes of Mount Kasuga. The forest, about 300 hectares, lies east of Kasuga Taisha in Nara Park; hunting and logging here have been banned since 841. It is a Special Natural Monument and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara.
