Hakuba Oike from Tsugaike

Trail description

Hakuba Oike is a volcanic lake at 2,379 m in Otari, Nagano, the second largest lake in the Northern Alps. This route climbs from the Tsugaike Nature Park side over the rocky slopes of Hakuba-Norikuradake to the lake. The lake has no fish but is home to many Tohoku salamanders, and komakusa and alpine primroses flower around it. The Hakuba Oike Sanso hut on the shore opens from early July to early October.
