Hakkoda Odake

Trail description

Odake, 1,585 m, is the highest of the 18 volcanic peaks of the Hakkoda group south of Aomori, which together count as one of Japan's 100 famous mountains. This route climbs from the Sukayu side to the summit. The area lies in Towada-Hachimantai National Park and is one of the snowiest places in the world. Hakkoda has been a continuously monitored volcano since 2016.
