Amanohashidate Sandbar

Trail description

A flat 1 km walk on Amanohashidate, the sandbar across Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture that is counted among Japan's three scenic views. The bar is 3.3 km long and covered with about 7,000 pine trees, with Kono Shrine near its northern end and Chion-ji temple at the southern end. It can be crossed on foot or seen from the mountains on either side.
