Trail description

Akiu Otaki is a 55 m waterfall on the upper Natori River in Sendai, a national scenic place and one of Japan's 100 best waterfalls. This walk follows the Akiu Otaki panorama path from the parking area past the viewing platform and the Fudo-taki bridge to the bank closest to the plunge pool, about 1 km. In the coldest weeks of early February the falls can freeze. The falls lie in the Zao Quasi-National Park at the start of the Futakuchi gorge.
