Val di Rose

Trail description

A 3.9 km climb of about 620 m from Civitella Alfedena into the Val di Rose, named for its many dog roses, next to the Camosciara reserve in the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. The valley lies between Monte Boccanera and Sterpi d'Alto, and Passo Cavuto at its head leads on to Monte Petroso. It is known for its Apennine chamois, as well as golden eagles and Marsican bears.
