Trail description
The walk starts on Via Madonna del Ceppo in Visino, a hamlet of Valbrona, and climbs east on paths and tracks to the grassy Alpe di Pianezzo on the north side of the Corni di Canzo, ending at the Rifugio SEV. The three rocky Corni, 1,373 m, 1,368 m and 1,232 m high, are the highest summits of the ridge between the Lambro valley and the Lecco arm of Lake Como. The hut was built by volunteers of the Società Escursionisti Valmadreresi (SEV), who began work in May 1960, with mules carrying materials up from Valbrona, and inaugurated it on 13 September 1964; the club's volunteers still run it. The walk is about 4.4 km one way, with some 780 m of climbing.
