Punta La Marmora

Trail description

A 4.4 km climb of about 520 m to Punta La Marmora, at 1,834 m the highest peak of Sardinia, in the Gennargentu massif between Arzana and Desulo. The peak is named after the general and scientist Alberto Ferrero della Marmora, who described the island in books of 1826 and 1860. Its Sardinian name, Perdas Crapias, means split stones, from the flaky Palaeozoic schist of its rounded, bare top.
