Trail description
A 4 km climb of about 480 m from the Eremo delle Carceri above Assisi to the grassy top of Monte Subasio, about 1,290 m. The towns of Assisi and Spello lie on the mountain's slopes. Its pink stone was used for many of the Franciscan buildings of Assisi, and the area is protected as the Monte Subasio regional park.
