A walk from the village of Fontana up the old Via Militare to the 789 m summit of Monte Epomeo, the highest point of Ischia, with the rock-cut hermitage of San Nicola near the top. About 6 km out and back with some 390 m of climbing, the first half on village streets and lanes.
