Lago di Pilato da Foce

Trail description

A 6.6 km climb of about 1,080 m from Foce up the Valle del Lago to the Lago di Pilato at 1,941 m, a glacial lake below the walls of Monte Vettore in the Sibillini National Park. The lake is home to a tiny red crustacean found nowhere else, so swimming is forbidden; in dry summers it splits into two pools. Check for trail closures since the 2016 earthquakes.
