Trail description

The route starts on a forest track in Aldein (Aldino), north-east of the peak, follows forest tracks towards the Jochgrimm (Passo Oclini) saddle and then takes the summit path up the Weißhorn (Corno Bianco). The mountain stands at the head of the Bletterbach gorge, known for its fossil plants and reptile tracks, which was inscribed with the Dolomites on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2009. Its summit is formed of dolomite laid down in a shallow tropical sea, and this pale rock, set against the reddish-grey porphyry of its twin across the Jochgrimm, the Schwarzhorn (Corno Nero), gives the White Horn its name. The walk is about 4.8 km one way, with some 470 m of climbing.
