Cava Grande del Cassibile

Trail description

A 2.5 km loop on the Noto side of the Cavagrande del Cassibile canyon, dropping from about 430 m to around 210 m toward the Cassibile river and climbing back. The canyon is about 10 km long and up to about 300 m deep, with limestone walls, and the river forms a chain of green pools, the laghetti, further down. The walk back up is the hard part, taking about twice as long as the descent.
