Trail description
A 2.9 km walk of about 190 m of climbing at the Cascata delle Marmore near Terni, passing close to the falls between about 210 and 390 m. At 165 m it is the tallest man-made waterfall in the world, created in 271 BC when the Roman consul Manius Curius Dentatus had a canal cut to drain the Velino marshes over the cliff into the Nera river. The falls lie 7.7 km from Terni in Umbria.
