Trail description

The walk starts at the car park by the Deserted Village on Achill Island, passes the roofless stone cottages of the abandoned settlement and climbs the steep western shoulder of Slievemore to the summit. At 671 metres Slievemore is the second highest peak on Achill after Croaghaun. Achill Tourism notes that most of the island is in common ownership, so the hills are freely open for hillwalking.
