Trail description

From the landing below the abandoned village on the Great Blasket, reached by boat from Dingle or Dunquin, this loop climbs behind the old stone cottages and circles the hillside high above the sea. The Irish speaking community, which produced writers such as Peig Sayers and Tomás Ó Criomhthain, left for the mainland in 1953. Discover Ireland notes the loop takes about an hour and a half.
