Trail description

This waymarked loop starts at Kilballyboy Wood at the foot of the Vee and climbs on forest and mountain paths to Bay Lough, a glacial corrie lake in the Knockmealdown Mountains. Local legend says the witch Petticoat Loose was banished to empty the bottomless lake with a thimble. Sport Ireland grades the blue arrow loop moderate, 4.5 km with 170 metres of ascent.
