Trail description

A pre-dawn walk from Cemoro Lawang on the rim of the Tengger caldera up to Mount Penanjakan, the classic sunrise viewpoint over Bromo, Batok and the smoking cone of Semeru. The path climbs through farm terraces and forest past the King Kong Hill viewpoint before joining the jeep road near the top. Start around 3 am to beat the jeeps and bring warm clothes; a Bromo Tengger Semeru park ticket is needed.
