Mount Penanggungan via Tamiajeng

Trail description

The official and most popular route up Penanggungan, a small dormant volcano in Trawas, East Java, climbs from the ticket office at Tamiajeng (about 680 m) past the Pos warungs and a ruined temple to Bayangan camp and the open summit at 1,653 m. It is the shortest and steepest route, about 3 to 4 hours up with very little shade; tickets are sold at Tamiajeng.
