Trail description

The Selo route up Mount Merbabu in Central Java, through pine forest and the wide grass savannas to the twin summits of Triangulasi and Kenteng Songo at about 3,142 m, looking straight across at the smoking cone of Merapi. Most walkers camp on the savanna and reach the top for sunrise. Climbers book online with Merbabu National Park, which closes the mountain in the wet season.
