Trail description

A two-day climb of Mount Kerinci, at 3,805 m the highest volcano in Indonesia, from the trailhead above the Kersik Tuo tea plantations through Kerinci Seblat rainforest to the camps at Shelter 2 and 3, then over loose scree to the active crater rim. The path is steep, muddy and slippery, and the summit is often in cloud by mid-morning. A park permit is needed and a local guide is strongly advised.
