Tungnath and Chandrashila

Trail description

A paved path from Chopta in Uttarakhand up through meadows to Tungnath, at about 3,680 m the highest Shiva temple in the world, then on a rough path to the summit of Chandrashila at 3,690 m with a panorama of Nanda Devi, Trishul and Chaukhamba. The temple closes for the winter from about November to April, but the path is walked in snow.
