Trail description

A 7.9 km climb of about 790 m from Ram Jhula in Rishikesh up the old forest pilgrim path through the Rajaji hills to the Neelkanth Mahadev temple, where Shiva is said to have drunk the poison of the churning of the ocean. A third of the way follows a quiet road. The path is busiest during the Shravan month, when pilgrims walk up in their thousands.
