Trail description

A three-day trek in the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve from the Bonacaud forest station through rainforest and grassland to the Athirumala base camp, then up rock slabs with fixed ropes to the 1,868 m summit of Agasthyarkoodam, sacred to the sage Agastya. The trek is open only in a short season, usually January and February, with an online permit from the Kerala Forest Department and a forest guide.
