Þingvallavatn Lakeside Walk

Trail description

A 2.4 km walk with about 30 m of climbing along the east shore of Þingvallavatn, passing below the 239 m Arnarfell. The rift valley lake covers 84 square km, the largest natural lake in Iceland, and is up to 114 m deep. At Þingvellir on its northern shore the Alþingi, the national parliament, was founded in 930.
