Trail description
A 2.5 km climb of about 165 m from the streets of Siglufjordur up to Hvanneyrarskal, a bowl-shaped glacial hollow high above the town. The route follows a gravel road toward the town's avalanche barriers and then grassy slopes beside small streams, with the fjord opening up behind. Siglufjordur was the capital of Iceland's herring boom, and the bowl was a favourite outing of the herring era.
