Trail description

A flat 1.8 km walk on the beach at Hvalnes, below Eystrahorn east of Lon in south-east Iceland. Eystrahorn is a very steep 756 m mountain, mostly of gabbro and rhyolite, formerly also called Hvalneshorn. Between it and Vestrahorn runs a long sand beach enclosing the lagoons of Papafjordur and Lonsfjordur.
