Helgufoss Waterfall

Trail description

A 3.8 km walk with about 325 m of climbing that starts at Helgufoss in Mosfellsdalur, northeast of Reykjavík, and follows the paths up over the shoulder of Grímmannsfell to the slopes of Flatafell. Helgufoss is a multi-tiered waterfall on the Kaldakvísl river, where the water flows down a series of rocky steps. Most visitors reach it on a short, well-marked path along the river, about 20 minutes from the parking area in the valley, a short drive from the centre of Reykjavík.
