Fagradalsfjall Volcano Trail

Trail description

A 2.2 km stretch of the marked trails on Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes peninsula, climbing about 70 m between 250 and 310 m across the young lava toward the 2021 Geldingadalir eruption site. The trails start from paid car parks on Road 427 about 8 km east of Grindavik, and the old routes A, B and C have been re-marked as the lava fields changed. New eruptions can close the area, so check the current access information before going.
