Dettifoss to Selfoss East

Trail description

A short path of about 1 km along the east bank of the Jökulsá á Fjöllum, from Dettifoss upstream to Selfoss, over rocky ground with little height difference. Dettifoss drops about 44 m and is one of the most powerful waterfalls in Europe, while Selfoss is only about 11 m high but some 100 m wide. The path ends on the rim above Selfoss, with the river splitting into many white streams below.
