Bláhnúkur from Landmannalaugar

Trail description

Bláhnúkur (945 m) is the steep peak beside the Landmannalaugar hut and campsite, climbed here in 2.2 km with 382 m of ascent, about an hour up, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains in their distinctive orange and green hues. Landmannalaugar is only reachable in summer, when the highland roads usually open between late May and mid-June, and a 4x4 is strongly advised for the river fords. A parking reservation system has operated in summer since 2024.
