Trail description
A 4.6 km climb of about 620 m on Akrafjall, the two-summited mountain above Akranes north of Hvalfjordur, from the waterworks car park by the Berjadalsa river up to about 620 m on the northern side of the Berjadalur valley, below the highest summit Geirmundartindur (643 m). The southern summit Haihnukur (553 m) is the more popular goal on the other side of the valley, and a 10 km loop links both. The summits look over Faxafloi bay to Reykjavik and the town of Akranes far below.
