Trail description
A 1.9 km climb with 260 m of ascent from the car park above Kővágószőlős to the Zsongor-kő on the Jakab-hegy in the western Mecsek. The path passes the Jubileumi kereszt, the Bubos-tető, the sandstone plateau of the Babás-szerkövek, the ruin of the István lookout and the Remete cave before reaching the rock. At about 570 m the Zsongor-kő is one of the Mecsek's finest viewpoints: the Mecsek Association secured it with an iron railing in 1892, it has been protected since 1943, and legend says Zsongor and his sweetheart leapt from it rather than be captured by the Turks.
