Trail description

A 0.7 km walk with 22 m of climb through the Remete-szurdok, from the gorge's lower entrance in Máriaremete along the path on its floor to the far end by the Remete cave. The gorge is the valley of the seasonal Ördög-árok stream in the Buda Hills, between Remeteszőlős and Máriaremete in Budapest's 2nd district, protected within the Duna-Ipoly National Park. The path, an easy walk of about 20 minutes, is also a nature trail, and numbered caves open in the cliffs above it; the Remete cave, named after a hermit who moved in after the Pauline order was dissolved, is freely accessible.
