Trail description

A 2.2 km climb with 290 m of ascent from the Cseberna valley to the summit of the Karancs on the Slovak border. The path crosses the Karancs-nyereg saddle and passes the Szent Margit chapel on the Kápolna-hegy, an open, wind-sheltered chapel on 13th-century foundations that legend attributes to Princess Margaret, daughter of King Béla IV, before the last climb to the Ruzsik lookout tower. On clear days the tower looks out to the castles of Salgó and Somoskő, the Bükk, Mátra and Börzsöny, and as far as the Tatras.
