Trail description

A 3.4 km walk with 41 m of climb from Petőfi utca in Gánt south on forest paths, past the Anger-rét, to the Balás Jenő Bauxite Mining Museum and the trail of the Bauxite Geological Park. Gánt was once an important mining village and is now one of the tourist centres of the Vértes; by output its bauxite mine was once the largest in Europe. The park's 13-station nature trail leads through the red pits of the old open-cast mine; there is an admission fee, and the park is closed on Mondays.
