Aggteleki Baradla-barlang

Trail description

This loop starts at the Aggtelek entrance of the Baradla Cave, at the foot of a white limestone cliff, and climbs over the karst plateau of Baradla-tető (485 m) on marked paths before returning to the entrance. Below it runs the Baradla-Domica cave system, more than 25 km of passages shared with Slovakia and part of the Caves of Aggtelek Karst and Slovak Karst World Heritage Site since 1995. The path follows part of the Baradla nature trail, whose boards explain the landscape and wildlife of the Aggtelek Karst. Guided cave tours start at the entrance: the short Aggtelek tour takes about an hour, and the cave stays at about 10 °C all year.
