Alderney Longis Nature Reserve

Trail description

Walk 9 of Visit Alderney's self-guided walks, a circular trail from the Roman fort car park at Longis Bay marked with white stones. It crosses Longis Common past the bird hide on the reed-fringed pond, climbs Mannez Garenne to the German naval tower known as the Odeon, and drops through Mannez Quarry to the pond and Mannez Lighthouse. It returns past Fort Quesnard and Fort Houmet Herbe along the coast and across the sands of Longis Bay.
