Alderney La Grande Blaye and Essex Hill

Trail description

Walk 10 of Visit Alderney's self-guided walks crosses La Grande Blaye, the island's great open field system, to the south cliffs and the Hanging Rock. It follows the coastal path over the gorse and heather of Essex Hill past the German flak battery, with views across the Alderney Race to France, then rounds Essex Castle and returns through the woods of Barrackmaster's Lane.
