Trail description

The Tayasal peninsula facing Flores preserves Mayan mounds and a viewpoint overlooking Lake Peten Itza. The trail crosses jungle and villages until it reaches the water observation tower. It was the last Itza Maya stronghold to fall to the Spaniards.
