Tymfristos Summit (Velouchi) from the Velouchi Refuge

Trail description

Tymfristos, known locally as Velouchi, rises above Karpenisi, and its highest point, Seintani, reaches about 2,315 m. The route starts at the mountain refuge by the Velouchi ski centre, which sits in an alpine valley at around 1,850 m just below the summit. A steep climb leads to the ridge with a view over Karpenisi and the Spercheios valley, then the path follows the ridge west to the top. The final section is steep, and in winter it needs crampons and an ice axe.
