Tsoukarela Summit (Lakmos) from Chaliki via Verliga Lake

Trail description

The standard route up Mount Lakmos (Peristeri) from Chaliki, at about 1,150 m the westernmost village of Thessaly. Waymarks lead out of the village, down to a stone bridge and up onto the ridge toward the alpine lake of Verliga, about 3 to 3.5 hours and 900 m of climbing away. Verliga lies just north of Tsoukarela, the highest summit, and often stays frozen until late spring. The summit looks out over Tzoumerka, Kakarditsa and Mavrovouni.
